There exist many VTOL UAV craft, however the Circular Wing
takes advantage of centrepital air dynamics to provide the
main function as a stable LEO platform.
Cypher is by far the most tested platform and role placement
for urban warfare. Using a ducted fan for downward directional
thrust is common among existing VTOL UAV's. The circular
wing does not use this technique.

AROD is another ducted fan VTOL UAV. In the
second version, multiple ducted fans are used. Stability
is always an issue with a downward thrust craft. It is like
balancing on a cone of air. Slip one way or the other and
you fall over. The Circular Wing design employed by LTG
uses a stability air frame that is more like a doughnut
which it nestles in. The air pressure surrounding it keeps
it from toppling over. This is what makes it such a stable
platform.

A favorite of LTG is the Georgia Research
Institutes Dragon Stalker. Again, this VTOL is designed
to move around quickly. The Circular Wing is not in this
class, as it is designed as a stable platform not astable
motion.
